Francisco Fonseca founded his own brand in the late 19th century.

It is said that Francisco Fonseca was an elegant man, and his attention to appearance was reflected in the Havana cigar brand he created - all of his cigars were wrapped in a unique, thin paper.

Even today, this distinctive packaging remains a characteristic and selling point of the brand's product line. Fonseca uses a mild blend of filler and wrapper from the Vuelta Abajo region, resulting in a light-bodied taste that pairs well with delicate fare.

All Fonseca varieties are completely handmade, with some using long-filler and others using short-filler.
